So for the last, I don’t know 8 months we’ve been searching for land. God finally answered our prayers and sent us to 17.5 acres of rolling fields PERFECT for what we want our life to be as a family.
Yesterday, we went to visit friends of ours who live in a log cabin. We asked them how they liked it, what they would have changed yadda yadda yadda. On our way home, BOTH girls fell asleep in the car so we decided to drive by the property on our way home.
A little back story on the family we bought it from.
We don’t know much about them, but we do know they are divorced. One or both MAY be remarried and they have a couple kids together. They owned quite bit of land and decided to sub-divide and sell all assets that they owned together. Likely, a tough decision.
When we passed the land to stop in at the neighbor’s and introduce ourselves, we noticed a tent set up right on the ridge looking west. After talking to the neighbor for a few minutes, she told us “he was up there camping one last time with his kids”. Ahhh I wanted to cry. To take your kids up there for the weekend and camp out(especially in the rain overnight Friday) truly meant he loved the land and perhaps even had plans for the land. How awesome was this dad to take his kids up there for one last hoorah!
He doesn’t know much about us, but we intend to make some pretty awesome memories there with our family as I am sure he did too. It was truly nice to see someone partaking in the small things in life that bring true happiness.

We will be following your journey! DJ and I are so happy for you and your family (a little jealous too)! Can’t wait to see your farm come together.
